Real Madrid have reportedly asked Sergio Ramos to take a pay cut in order to remain at the club.
According to ABC, Florentino Perez wants his captain to sign a one-year contract extension with a 10 per cent reduction to his current wages.
Ramos is said to want a two-year deal on the same wages as his current contract, but he is keen to stay in Madrid.
The economic differences are not great. There are more personal divergences. The long negotiations between José Ángel Sánchez and René Ramos, general director of Real Madrid and the captain’s attorney respectively, left consequences over time, mixed with other clashes of interests with soccer players.
For this reason, Florentino Pérez wants to speak alone with Ramos and no one else.
It will renew or not, but it will be a matter of two.
He expects to train tomorrow Sunday at five in the afternoon, although he will not play the Cup on Wednesday against Alcoyano and hopes to be available on Saturday in Vitoria, against Alavés de Abelardo.
