Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has warned unsuspecting Nigerians against being defrauded by some individuals peddling a phantom CAF ‘C’ Coaching Course in Abuja.
The football body on Friday tweeted to disassociate itself from the unholy exercise, claiming it didn’t emanate from its office.
The statement read: “The attention of the NFF has been drawn to a phantom ‘CAF C Coaching Course’ being peddled by some individuals with the purpose of defrauding unsuspecting Nigerians. This notice and its content did not emanate from the NFF and there is actually no CAF C Coaching Course holding or about to hold in the country anytime soon.”
A sizeable section of the Nigerian sporting media on Friday went to town with news of NFF’s plan to hold the coaching course, asserting that the football body has concluded arrangements to hold the exercise in Abuja starting Monday.
Siji Lagunju of the NFF Technical Department was quoted to have told thenff.com that over 80 coaches registered for the two-week exercise, the third of its kind in the country in less than four years.
Former Nigeria coach and CAF instructor, Adegboye Onigbinde tops the list of instructors at the programme meant to hold at the FIFA Technical Centre, Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
