New Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has received a contract message by owner Roman Abramovich.
And according to the Mail, Tuchel has a huge financial incentive to aim high.
The 47-year-old has been given an 18-month contract with Chelsea, keeping him in Stamford Bridge until June 2022.
But Tuchel’s deal will be extended if he can keep them in the Champions League this season and next.
This means that the west Londoners have to finish in the Premier League top four on both occasions.
The report states that there are similar incentivised clauses in the 18-month deal, which is a change of approach from Abramovich aimed at reducing compensation payments.
And the German admitted last week that he was hesitant to take the job at first before being told that his job was not guaranteed.
Frank Lampard had a break clause after two years in his contract, meaning the Blues will only have to continue paying him until the end of the season.
But Tuchel has already “dared” Chelsea to sack him if they are not happy.
